Every March, the tiny town of Stoliv in the Bay of Kotor hosts a spectacular Camellia Festival. According to legend, the local seaman brought this plant from Japan for his beautiful wife. Camellia did well in the warm Mediterranean climate, spreading along the coast.

The Festival pays tribute to this story, the “captain” arrives by the boat, holding a flower pot. Every guest gets a bright flower, people are singing and dancing.
