This opera festival has an unusual history. it was founded in 2006 by Finnish opera singer Katherine Haataja, who also conducts a foundation and an educational program to support young talents.
Operas are performed in the open air in the fortresses of Forte Mare and Kanli Kula and some other venues. The main event of 2019 will be the premiere of the opera Be My Superstar by composer Šimon Voseček.
Tickets for Midsummer Night's Dream and other concerts of the Operosa program start at € 15. And because of the limited number of places and the high demand, the tickets for the opera Be My Superstar only available through lottery via e-mail.
