The Blue Palace was built in Cetinje in 1895 as ordered by King Nikola I for his son and successor to the throne, Danila II Aleksandr. italian architect Camillo Boito oversaw the project. Danilo and his wife lived in the palace until 1916.
For a long time it was used as a gallery and museum, but now it's the official residence of the President of Montenegro.
