Just a short distance from Tivat airport there is Tivat solila, a unique natural bird sanctuary occupying an area of 150 hectares. Tivat solila borrows its name from the former salt pans which used to be here before this place became what it now is.
The sanctuary offers a nesting and wintering home for many kinds of birds, and is a natural habitat for frogs, tritons, and turtles.
The park is open for visits and equipped with special paths. On the territory of the park, there are two bird watching towers and benches for visitors to rest on.
