Širun is the name for mackerel in the Balkans. On the day of the festival, it is baked and grilled in the open air on the narrow streets of the Old Town.

This traditional festival of mackerel and — of course! — wine has a half-century history, and celebrates not only the gastronomic delights, but local music and art as well.
